Finally, a little R&R

The last month has been busy for us. We didn't schedule a summer vacation this year, and instead planned for two long weekends, one at the beach, and one  at the mountains.  They just happened to fall a couple weeks apart.

Somehow though, the weather miraculously worked.  Our beach trip to Figure 8 this year was in late September. We had some good friends join us and the weather was perfect, upper 80's with a light breeze.  It was all we could have asked for an a much needed chance for a break.  I didn't get many photos of that weekend, but here was the group shot.

Thanks everyone for joining us! We had a great time and it was the highlight of our summer!

A few weekends later, Don and I travelled to the north GA mountains to stay the weekend in a beautiful mountain cabin.  Brett & Jill drove down from VA and Annie and Kris came from Charlotte to join us. Don and I had been looking forward to our vacation with all our nephews all year.  Thankfully - the cabin did not disappoint!   It was very secluded but had a great view, screened in porch, fire pit, and even a media room so that we didn't miss any hockey games!

Here are the photos from our weekend. We have so many great memories - decorating halloween cookies, apple picking, campfires, and of course the petting zoo at the mountain festival! It was a blast and a vacation we'll remember for a long time!
