Merry Christmas!!

It's hard to believe we're only about a week away from Christmas! This weekend we have a lot on our list, finish the Christmas shopping, grocery shop, laundry, holiday parties and cookie / book exchanges, oh yeah - and get ready to go on our big holiday tour.

One of those Christmas traditions just snuck up on us - taking Audrey to get her picture with Santa. This was not high on my priority list because she's had a lot of stranger danger lately, and I had visions of long lines, a cranky baby, and then a tearful meeting with the big guy in the red suit at the end of it all.  So I was happy to see that our wonderful apartment complex invited Santa to come take pictures with the kids this Saturday morning. Perfect!! We can eat breakfast, walk down for a quick pic, and then back home for a nap, all in under an hour.

We didn't realize what a big event this would be though.  We were so pleasantly surprised - there was a song hour for the kids with Mr. and Mrs. Claus to start, and there was a waffle breakfast, and the room was packed! There were kids, parents, and some senior residents enjoying the time with the little ones for the morning. What a nice event. We took a quick video and then of course some pictures of our little elf with Santa himself. Audrey really enjoyed it all - until she had to get up close to Santa. I was right about the tearful meeting after all.

What wonderful memories of her first Christmas. Now we are really ready to get this holiday started!
