A visit with Florence

This weekend we were so excited to have a visit from Don's mom Florence. She drove in on Saturday and we enjoyed a nice afternoon catching up here at the house before dinner. We gave her the tour since she hasn't been here in a while and we've finally got our home furnished!

That night, we went to Roswell for a lovely dinner at a French restaurant Don and I discovered a few months ago, Pastis. We started with wine and calamari - both excellent. Our entrees were just as yummy and we ate so much no one had room for dessert. After dinner we took a quick walk down Canton street to see the cute antique shops. On the way home, we gave her a quick tour of Don's business park and of course the softball field. By the time we got home-we were all ready for bed!

The next day we all slept in and enjoyed a lazy Sunday morning. We drank coffee and watched the British Open for a few hours before venturing out to do a little flower shopping. Florence had brought us some flower boxes to add some much needed color to our front porch.

I'm happy to report that we got our first hummingbird today (the flowers were supposed to attract them). It was such a surprise - right outside the window of our dining room as we were eating dinner. He was too quick and I didn't get a picture, but hopefully there will be more later. Thanks again for making the trip Florence, we had a wonderful time!
