We also had some radiology tests at the Children's Hospital and a follow up visit with her Urologist to see how her kidney has been doing. She has hydronephrosis of the right kidney, which is has a double collection system, and some mild urinary reflux. The good news is, this is all very fixable (and not uncommon), and she is lucky in that it looks like there is some function in the tissue. The bad news is, she will need surgery when she is six months old. Still, while I am nervous about a surgery, we feel very thankful that she will be fine. It didn't take long walking around the Children's hospital before we were both well aware of how lucky Emery is. We now realize that her kidney issues are on the level of "an inconvenience" compared to some of the other patients we saw. So you won't find us dwelling on her medical issues much beyond this post, we just wanted to make sure we relayed the findings to all of you who read this to keep up.
Now on to what her great grandmas and grandparents really want... Pictures! :)
