...after a hurricane of course! We arrived in Wilmington on Monday following the big storm. Mom drove down with us for the first day and we decided to stop in Warsaw about an hour outside of Wilmington to grab some North Carolina BBQ - eastern BBQ for those of you from NC who know the difference. And of course if you are, you know there's only one place to get it. 
That afternoon, we dined on pork BBQ sandwiches, black eyed peas, hush puppies, and banana pudding for dessert. What a start to a great vacation! We also picked up some fresh veggies for dinner at a farmer's stand next door.
The Heltons were kind enough to let us stay at their house, so we were happy to do a little "unpacking" after the storm for them. In no time we had the deck furniture back out and the house was ready for company again. As you can see, that saying about the pretty weather is definitely true. We had a nice walk on the beach that day before mom had to head home.
