Despite my late post, we did celebrate Don's 30th Birthday this year. I'm making up for last year since unexpected travel to Nebraska distracted me from his birthday. Don didn't even get a cake last year, so I was determined to make up for it this year:
On his birthday (8/29) we enjoyed a special dinner out. I surprised Don with a birthday dinner at Park 75, the restaurant at the Atlanta 4 Seasons Hotel. It was really fun and the food was great, but as often is the case with those fancy restaurants, the portions were a little small. Not to fear though, the next night we made dinner and had some friends over for a game night. The Millers and Desai's joined us to celebrate his birthday again - this time complete with cupcakes, cookies, and a musical birthday candle. Don ended up the big winner for poker that night, I think he walked away with all $6.
What - no pictures you ask? We didn't take any of the game night, but we did get Don a nice new camera recently as a birthday present. The snaps of our DC trip earlier in August were taken with the new camera, and so far he loves it! The birthday celebration wasn't over yet though... Knowing how much he's missed his buddies from DC, we hosted a beach week with some of the DC/Raleigh crowd to cap off this 30th year celebration. So a big Thank You to the Helton's for letting us borrow your beach house for the week. We have plenty of pictures from that vacation to share in some upcoming posts.
Happy 30th Birthday Don!
